Adeboye: Restructure or Risk Breakup

Published

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God
General Overseer, The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has warned the Federal Government of Nigeria led by President Muhammadu Buhari, to give Nigeria a lasting solution to secession agitations and its economic challenges by restructuring the country as soon as possible to forestall possible break up.
Adeboye noted that the restructuring of the country must be done “as soon as possible” to forestall a breakup of the various social-ethnic components that make up Nigeria, saying that the United States of Nigeria is likely to survive than our present structure.
Pastor Adeboye stated this at a 60th Independence Day Celebration Symposium co-organised by the Redeemed Christian Church of God and the Nehemiah Leadership Institute held on Saturday.
At the Independence Day symposium themed, ‘Where will Nigeria be in 2060?,” Adeboye proposed the adoption of a merger of the British style of government and the American system of government to pave the way for Nigeria’s future.
Pastor Adeboye wondered why Nigeria cannot practise a system of government-unique to us, According to him, “Why can’t we have a system of government that is 100 per cent Nigerian, unique to us? For example, we started on with the British system of government, somewhere along the line, we moved over to the American system of government.
“Can’t we have a combination of both and see whether it could help us solve our problems because in Mathematics if you want to solve a problem, you try what we call Real Analysis, then if it doesn’t work, then you move on to Complex Analysis and see whether that will help you. If that fails, you move on to Vector Analysis and so on.
“I believe that we might want to look at the problems of Nigeria in a slightly different manner. Some people feel that all our problems will be over if Nigeria should break up. I think that is trying to solve the problems of Nigeria as if it is a Simple Equation. The problems of Nigeria will require quite a bit of Simultaneous Equation and some of them are not going to be Linear either – forgive me I am talking as a Mathematician.
“Why can’t we have a system of government that will create what I will call the United States of Nigeria? Let me explain. We all know that we must restructure. It is either we restructure or we break, you don’t have to be a prophet to know that one. That is certain – restructure or we break up.

“Now, we don’t want to break up, God forbid. In the restructuring, why don’t we have a Nigerian kind of democracy? At the federal level, why don’t we have a President and a Prime Minister?

“If we have a President and a Prime Minister and we share responsibilities between these two so that one is not an appendage to the other. For examples, if the President controls the Army and the Prime Minister controls the Police. If the President controls resources likes oil and mining and the Prime Minister controls finance and inland revenue, taxes, customs etc. You just divide responsibilities between the two.

“At the state level, you have the governor and the premier, and the same way, you distribute responsibilities between these people in such a manner that one cannot really go without the other. Maybe we might begin to tackle the problems.”

Adeboye noted that the place of traditional rulers must be recognised and restored in governance.

He added, “If we are going to adopt the model, then we need to urgently restore the House of Chiefs. I have a feeling that one of our major problems is that we have pushed the traditional rulers to the background and I believe that is a great error particularly for a great country like Nigeria.

“I find it very ridiculous that one will ask a traditional ruler to inform the chairman of his local government before he travels.

“Go to any town in Nigeria, everybody in the town knows the paramount ruler in the town and they respect him (but) many of them don’t even know the name of the chairman of their local government.

“The traditional rulers are the actual landlords, they control the respect of their people. Their people will listen to them much more, I am sorry to say than they will listen to some politicians.”

“Without any doubt, we must restructure and do it as soon as possible. The United States of Nigeria is likely to survive than our present structure,” he concluded.

Bloodshed: Resign Now, God is Angry with You, Popular Pastor Tells Buhari

Published

Following the butchery that occurred in Borno State on Saturday, a popular Nigerian cleric and leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elisah Ayodele, has spoken against the act that claimed the lives of over 43 farmers.
He described that act as a sad occurrence and a confirmation that God is not happy with the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.
He made it known that the recent happenings in the country have shown beyond doubt that President Buhari can’t lead the country anymore, therefore, he should honourably resign for someone who has the capacity to lead the country.
He also reinstated his statement that President Muhammadu Buhari needs to sack his service chiefs before the security in Nigeria can improve, while describing the present ones as ‘weak and tired’
‘The killings that took place in Borno on Saturday are saddening, disheartening and shame to our dear country.
The stubbornness of President Muhammadu Buhari and not listening to advise has affected his government.
He knows what to do to control it but it’s as if he has made up his mind to shed blood of Nigerians. God is not happy with this government because lots of blood has been sucked and there is no way the government won’t pay for it.
This is sad, I’m sure the number is more than that, and that is why Buhari isn’t capable of leading this country again, he should resign honourably and let someone else who has the capacity to be there, he has failed Nigerians and there is no way God will be happy with him. How long will we continue to experience this.
The service chiefs are tired, they don’t know what to do, they are confused, they are just there making noise, they don’t have the stamina and idea.
My concern is Buhari has all it takes to do a positive thing about the security of the country but he has ignored the people, there is no peace, we have killings, armed robbery attack, it’s a shame to the government, he should have resigned honourably and have peace of mind.’
Meanwhile, Primate Ayodele in his annual book of Prophecy titled Warning to the nation had warned against the recent sad occurrence that happened in Ondo and Borno States.
On page 37 under Borno section, Primate Ayodele noted that Jere Local government should be careful of strange and unexpected attacks, which eventually happened.
Also on Page 86 under Ondo state section, he categorically said that the state should pray against losing a king or dethronement of a king, as he warned, news had it last week that a first class monarch in Ondo was shot dead by unknown armed men.

#EndSARS: ‘Wickedness of the Wicked Shall Consume the Wicked’

Published

The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries is deeply saddened by the unwarranted, unnecessary, callous, barbaric and inhuman use of live bullets by the security forces on Nigerian youths in Lagos, who were on peaceful protests to register their grievances with regards to violation of their fundamental human rights by the security agents.
It is indeed a Black Tuesday in the annals of Lagos and Nigeria. This is least expected in this century. While youths all over the world are contributing their own quota to good governance, the security forces are shooting their own in cold blood, devoid of human feelings and empathy.
Biblical principles of the Almighty God, says that the wickedness of the wicked, will consume the wicked. Those who shed innocent blood, their own blood will certainly be shed.
Let it be known that whatever is done under the cover of darkness with the belief that nobody sees it, will surely be brought to light and God the Ultimate Judge, will definitely judge speedily.
For it is written in Psalm 10.18 “You will hear the cries of the oppressed and the orphans; you will judge in their favor, so that mortal men may cause terror no more”.
Our hearts and prayers go to the Nigerian youths and all others negatively affected by this unfortunate and avoidable situation. We pray that God Almighty will minister peace and comfort to their hearts.
We also commiserate with the parents and guardians of the victims of this extreme show of force ,lack of empathy and lack of brotherly love, from those that committed this dastardly act.
To the Nigerian government, we will like to advise that going forward, utmost care and caution, coupled with divine wisdom, should be employed in bringing a lasting solution to the problem at hand.
Nigeria is all we have as Nigerians.
LET THE PEACE OF GOD REIGN SUPREME IN NIGERIA IN JESUS’ MIGHTY NAME. AMEN.
